The Ministers in Training tracks are designed to run from July to June each year, each with an application window.  

  • The application window for the Church Ministries Track is open from December 1-January 15.
  • The application window for the Vocational Discipleship track is from January 1-February 1.

Base Qualifications


Church Ministries Track

Ministry Assistant

(to serve with Living Hope ministries)

  • A Christian Disciple
  • A covenant member of Living Hope for at least 6 months
  • At least 19 years old
  • At least a freshman in college (preferably a sophomore)
  • Assigned responsibilities that focus on people at least three years younger

Intern

(exploring a call to ministry)

  • A Christian disciple
  • A covenant member of Living Hope or become a covenant member within 2 months of beginning internship
  • At least 20 years old
  • At least a sophomore in college with a desire to explore a call to ministry in the local church

Apprentice

(has an affirmed call to local church ministry)

  • A Christian disciple
  • A covenant member of Living Hope or become a covenant member within 2 months of beginning the apprenticeship
  • At least 21 years old
  • At least a junior in college
  • Completed the Living Hope internship with an affirmation of a call to local church ministry or have equivalent ministry experience or training

Resident

(previous ministry experience and/or entering ministry later in life)

  • A Christian disciple
  • A covenant member of Living Hope or become a covenant member within 2 months of beginning residency
  • At least 24 years old
  • A college graduate
  • Completed the Living Hope apprenticeship or have equivalent ministry experience and training
  • Commit to at least 2 years of service with Living Hope

Vocational Track

  • A Christian disciple
  • A covenant member of Living Hope
  • At least 24 years old
  • Engaged in their vocational field for at least two years prior to beginning MIT
